PC hard drives fill up very quickly with our favourite music, movie, picture and personal files - it does not even bear thinking about the thought of losing all those important files built up over so many years.
Now we can back-up all our important data on a portable hard drive. These devices take up a tiny amount of physical room yet probably store 10 times what our PC can. They also make sharing files with friends and family easier because we can just take our portable hard drive round and connect it to their PC via a usb cable taking the pain out of transfering files.
What type?
There are many different types of portable hard drive, of all different, prices, shapes and sizes. Its worth spending a little more on a quality product - after all your treasured files are stored on this device and the last thing you want is to have scrimped ona cheap one that goes wrong after a few months. My advice is to by the best and biggest capacity you can afford as you will be suprised how quickly you fill it up once you get into backing up regularly - so at least 80GB.
So, now you have no excuse not to back up your files!
